The budget dashboard shows how your budgets are performing across the year, and lets you drill from a total all the way down to the transactions behind it.
Open it
Go to Budgets → Dashboard and pick a Fiscal Year.
The figures at the top
The KPI cards show Total Budget, Total Spent, Committed, Remaining, and Forecast. For what "spent" and "committed" mean, see Understanding committed vs actual spend.
Change the view
- Frequency — Monthly, Quarterly, or Yearly periods across the columns.
- Display mode —
- Budget vs Actual — the budgeted and actual figure for each period.
- Variance — the difference, in amount and percent.
- % Utilized — a percentage with a bar: green under 75%, amber from 75%, red at 100% and over.
Read the grid
Rows nest from Budget → Category → Vendor (for a project-scoped budget, the rows are the project's work breakdown instead). Use the chevrons on a row, or the drill-down button in the Budget column, to expand and collapse levels. The Total column stays pinned on the right.
Click any cell to open that budget's Transactions, filtered to the period and category, vendor, or WBS node you clicked.
Export
Excel downloads the grid, and Print produces a printable table. Both export the fully expanded hierarchy, whatever is expanded on screen.
