Snap a photo of a receipt and let Tera's AI read the details for you — no typing needed.
Scan a receipt
- In the mobile app, open Expenses and tap New → Scan Receipt.
- Line the receipt up in the frame and tap the capture button. (You can also pick an image from Gallery or choose a PDF.)
- Tera's AI reads the receipt — you'll see "AI is extracting data from your receipt…". It pulls out the merchant, date, total, tax, category, and line items.
- Review the extracted details, then choose:
- Attach to Transaction — add the receipt to an existing expense, or
- Save as New Expense — create a new expense from it.
Note: Receipt scanning uses AI, so you may be asked to give AI consent the first time. Always double-check the amounts before you submit — AI gets it right most of the time, but not always.
